Heather is a Solicitor who has experience of working in various law firms throughout London. Heather has been a qualified Solicitor for over a decade of which her vast experience has been in Human Rights and Immigration Law.
Heather is fluent in Arabic both spoken and written and is able to converse in two dialects; Egyptian Colloquial and Palestinian. Heather has a deep understanding of refugees as she has lived and worked in five third world countries the last of which was in the Gaza Strip where she experienced the second intifada and how this affected the Palestinians first hand.
It is because of Heather's interest, experience and passion for refugees that she has specialised in this area of law. Heather feels that she has an understanding of the situations which face refugees in their country of origin which assists in her drive to help those in the United Kingdom that suffer in consequence of their country's policies.
Heather is now a Partner at Kilby Jones Solicitors and her role as a Solicitor includes; providing initial advice, making applications to the Home Office, appeal preparation for matters heard by the First Tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal Applications.
Alyssia became a partner at Kilby Jones Solicitors in 2011.
Having trained at Trott and Gentry Solicitors in immigration, asylum and nationality law, family law and civil litigation, she now practices in immigration and asylum work, and has interests in human rights and European Law.
Alyssia has a mixed practice of immigration, nationality, asylum work and European law.
She has over twenty years experience of advising individuals on a wide variety of immigration matters. She has a particular interest in cases involving family issues such as children, partners, dependent relatives.
She has extensive experience of preparing cases successfully in the First Tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal, High Court and Court of Appeal. Alyssia has a particular interest in complex trafficking and Blood feud claims from Albania.
Alyssia also acts for asylum applicants with complex claims involving deportation.
She has a wider background in judicial reviews cases against the Home Office and is well able to spot legal issues and possible remedies.
